The second episode of the third season of “House of the Dragon” has officially become the highest-rated installment in the series’ history, securing an impressive score of 9.5 out of 10 on IMDb.
This milestone is based on 18,000 user ratings. The episode, titled “Queen’s Landing,” surpassed the previous record-holder from the second season, “The Red Dragon and the Gold.” “Queen’s Landing” also matches the acclaim of two episodes from “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” which aired on HBO earlier this year.
“House of the Dragon” serves as a prequel to “Game of Thrones,” with its narrative set roughly a century before the events of the original series. The show chronicles the turbulent history of House Targaryen, featuring performances by Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, and others.
For comparison, several episodes of “Game of Thrones,” such as “Battle of the Bastards” and “The Winds of Winter,” achieved near-perfect ratings of 9.9.
