New Hope for Fans Waiting for Leon in Resident Evil Requiem — Developers Confirm Return of Characters from Previous Installments
In the latest entry of the franchise, players will encounter several familiar faces.
Various insiders have hinted that Leon will appear in Resident Evil Requiem, but Capcom has not directly confirmed his role in the story.
Recently the developers gave fans fresh reason to speculate. The community’s attention turned to remarks made by the producer of Resident Evil Requiem.
When asked whether other returning characters — aside from Alyssa Ashcroft (the protagonist from Outbreak) — would be included, Masato Kumazawa replied:
I’ll put it this way: yes — some characters from previous entries will appear, but don’t raise your expectations too high. We can’t make any promises on that front; all I can say is that there will be characters connected to the Raccoon City incident.
Leon Kennedy was among those who survived the Raccoon City incident, giving franchise fans reason to hope the character might return.
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on February 27, 2026.
