New Hit from the Creators of Battlefield: ARC Raiders Tops Extraction Shooters on Steam
ARC Raiders has long been one of the most eagerly awaited extraction shooters, and it looks like those expectations have been met. After the latest pre-release tests went live, the game immediately climbed into Steam’s most-played charts.
The game is available to try for free until this evening — developers at Embark are validating server stability ahead of the full launch. Judging by player activity, the tests appear to have gone smoothly: interest was substantial.
The testing quickly attracted a large number of participants. Steam reports a peak concurrent player count of 189,668. At the time of publication the online population remains around 83,000. Even with the current figures, the shooter from former Battlefield developers has become one of the genre’s standout titles on the platform.
According to SteamDB, Helldivers 2 (peak 458,709) and Delta Force (247,028) remain the leaders. But ARC Raiders has already surpassed several nearby competitors:
- Escape from Duckov — 80,509
- Gray Zone Warfare — 72,548
- Arena Breakout: Infinite — 66,007
- Dark and Darker — 57,164
- The Cycle: Frontier — 40,854
While Escape from Tarkov prepares for its Steam release on November 15, 2025, ARC Raiders is steadily cementing its place, suggesting it may become a new favorite among extraction shooters.
