Netflix Renews Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen for Season 2
Guy Ritchie continues to expand his presence across major streaming platforms. The director behind Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels has series running across several networks, including Young Sherlock on Prime Video, MobLand on Paramount Plus, and The Gentlemen on Netflix. Based on Ritchie’s 2019 film The Gentlemen, the television adaptation premiered in 2024. Ahead of the season 2 premiere on Sept. 3, Netflix has already renewed the series for a third season.
“The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight,” Ritchie said in a statement. “A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.”
The series follows Duke Eddie Honniman, played by Theo James. A former Army captain and United Nations peacekeeping officer, Eddie returns home after his father dies to save the family estate. He quickly learns that his father allowed a drug dealer to run a cannabis operation on the property, while his older brother Freddy (Daniel Ings) owes heavy debts to a rival dealer. While Eddie initially aims only to make enough money to resolve his family’s troubles, his ambitions rapidly escalate. By the end of the debut season, Eddie establishes a formal partnership with Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) to help oversee her father’s criminal syndicate.

The season 2 trailer highlights Eddie’s efforts to expand his empire through violent force alongside lobbying efforts for cannabis decriminalization. His aggressive tactics unsettle Susie and her father Bobby (Ray Winstone). Meanwhile, billionaire Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito), who ended season 1 behind bars next to Bobby, encourages Eddie to strike out on his own path. The upcoming episodes take the narrative from the British countryside to Italy, delivering fresh conflicts, dark comedy, and new tension between Eddie and Susie.
