The Duffer Brothers are preparing an epic finale to their story.
Netflix has released the final trailer for the fifth and concluding season of “Stranger Things.” The teaser builds toward a sweeping conclusion to the saga that began nearly ten years ago in the quiet Indiana town of Hawkins.
The fifth season is set in the autumn of 1987 — about eighteen months after the events of Season Four. The Rift remains open, Hawkins is gradually being shrouded in darkness, the government has begun pursuing Eleven, and the group must unite to locate and destroy Vecna.
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer describe the new season as their most ambitious and personal yet. They say the narrative will push every character to their breaking point, and Vecna will reemerge in an upgraded form — “Vecna 2.0” — capable of operating not only through the Upside Down but also directly in the real world.
Earlier, Millie Bobby Brown — who plays Eleven — explained that Season Five will feel like an action-adventure, with all of the characters fully engaged in the conflict.
Returning to the cast are Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp and Sadie Sink. New additions include Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, Jake Connolly and Alex Bro.
The fifth season will be released in three parts: the first arrives on Netflix on November 26, the second on December 25, and the final episode will be released on December 31, 2025.
