‘Naked’ Player in ARC Raiders Was Shot in 63 of 75 Matches — Then He Picked Up a Duck and Everything Changed
The experimenter devised a distinctive tactic.
Recently, an ARC Raiders enthusiast using the handle 17prozent revealed the results of a social experiment he called “the naked man.”
He began joining raids “naked” — without weapons, without a shield, without augmentations (inventory enhancements) and without any healing items.
When he met other players he explained over voice chat that defeating him would grant “at most 500 experience points,” so it wasn’t worth the trouble, adding “I don’t even have a shield.” Then he turned his back to them to demonstrate his claim.
In practice, he was shot in 63 out of 75 encounters. After that, he tried an unexpected move that completely transformed his gameplay experience.
17prozent kept his “naked” approach, but this time he brought a rubber duck into the raid. After doing that, players acted friendly in 9 out of 10 encounters.
He clarified that he tested ARC Raiders on console at various times across the weekend.
