Midoriya brings My Hero Academia representation to Jump Force

Jump Force has seen plenty of anime classics join the roster, but now it’s getting the current hits. Izuku Midoriya of My Hero Academia – otherwise known as Deku – is the latest hero to join the roster. Deku’s the headliner in a list of new character reveals, and Bandai Namco has also provided a new trailer breaking down what to expect from the single-player story.

Midoriya’s reveal sadly only comes in screenshot form via Twitter, but those images hint at all the things you’d expect. His move list will properly include the likes of Delaware Smash and Detroit Smash, because it wouldn’t be MHA without people shouting the names of US locations. For full accuracy, we’ll need Deku to take damage every time he uses a special, but we’ll have to wait and see how he actually plays.

You can also check out a new story trailer below if you need some backstory on why all this anime has been pushed into conflict. The Jump World has merged with reality, leaving villains to run amok and cause destruction – as they do. Our heroes join up as the Jump Force under the leadership of Director Glover to stop them.

The trailer also gives us a look at Asta of Black Clover, Boa Hancock of One Piece, Renji Abarai of Bleach, and – last but not least – Trunks of Dragon Ball.

The four were all revealed this week, so Bandai Namco hasn’t been shy about piling on the new reveals. But now that My Hero is here, the only question that remains is ‘where’s JoJo?’
