Microsoft Xbox App to Launch on TCL TVs Without a Console

Microsoft and TCL have announced a partnership that will bring the Xbox app to select TCL Smart TVs, allowing users to play games via the cloud without a console or PC.

Playing Xbox is no longer limited to consoles and PCs, as TCL televisions are now joining the lineup. The Xbox app will become available for download on select Smart TV models, enabling users to launch titles such as Forza Horizon 6, Gears of War: E-Day, and Halo: Campaign Evolved without needing an extra device.

Microsoft stated:

We want to be wherever the world plays. This means players get more choice in how and where they play, and accessing Xbox experiences becomes easier. Adding the Xbox app to select TCL Smart TVs is another step in that direction. Together, we are making Xbox games more accessible than ever, allowing millions of TCL TV users in more than 25 countries to play Xbox games on the Smart TVs they already own.

At the same time, Microsoft announced limits on cloud gaming time within existing Game Pass subscriptions last week. As a result, users who play heavily through the cloud may need to purchase additional hours.
