My.Games has teamed up with Swedish metal stalwarts Sabaton for a special crossover in the long-running mobile mech shooter War Robots. The partnership debuts alongside the Fire Storm event, which began on October 28, 2025, and complements material from Sabaton’s 11th studio album, Legends, released on October 17, 2025.

The collaboration grew out of a player interests survey run by My.Games and developer Pixonic. Producer Boris Burangulov says survey responses revealed a strong preference for rock and metal among the community, and Sabaton emerged as the most frequently cited favorite band.

Pär Sundström, Sabaton (bassist, manager, and co-founder): “When Pixonic shared the survey results, we were genuinely honored. So many players chose us that we wanted to show our appreciation in a meaningful way. That’s how this collaboration was born — we’re bringing one of our new tracks right into the hangars. We hope fans and players alike enjoy it.”

Players can expect “A Tiger Among Dragons,” a track from Legends, to play in the in-game hangar, alongside a new environment visually informed by the album’s artwork. My.Games says the album’s imagery “syncs perfectly with the atmosphere of War Robots — a world of steel, fire, and conflict,” lending a thematic bridge between the band’s epic storytelling and the game’s mech combat.

Below is our exclusive conversation with Pär Sundström about the partnership and the song chosen for the game.

Interview with Pär Sundström

Game Informer: When Pixonic approached you about this collaboration, was “A Tiger Among Dragons” the first track you thought would fit the game?

Pär Sundström: I’ve always believed in “A Tiger Among Dragons” from the day we wrote it. It has a distinctive character that made it feel like it could live beyond our usual heavy-metal narratives. When folks from War Robots came by to hear the entire Legends album, they gravitated toward that song — and it felt like a natural fit for the game’s energy.

Game Informer: How do the song’s themes line up with War Robots?

Legends is built on old but resonant stories — deeds that echo through time and become legendary. “A Tiger Among Dragons” tells the tale of Lü Bu, the Chinese warlord, and its driving, almost mechanical rhythm pairs well with imagery of both ancient warriors and futuristic mechs. The song captures a blend of glory, ferocity, betrayal, and the isolation that comes with overwhelming power — emotions that translate cleanly into combat-driven gameplay.

Game Informer: What does it mean to you that the War Robots community picked a metal band as their top choice?

It says a lot about the community’s tastes — they prefer music that’s bold and cinematic, not mere background noise. Metal has had its ups and downs, but it’s a genre with lifelong fans. We never chased trends; we focused on making music for people who live and breathe it. Seeing classic bands fill stadiums today shows that the connection between metal and its audience endures.

Game Informer: Did you see the Legends-themed hangar? How involved were you in its design?

I was involved. We wanted players to feel at home in the design while adding subtle Sabaton touches. Since this collaboration is ultimately a thank-you to players, we made sure the band’s presence enhances the experience without overwhelming it.
