Rightly so — Insomniac’s Spider-Man trilogy has been a standout in recent gaming. The satisfying web-swinging, tightly written narratives that explore Miles Morales and Peter Parker’s foes, and the meticulous recreation of New York City have all helped those games rank among the best releases of the last decade.
Footage unveiled during September’s State of Play indicates Wolverine leans on many of those same strengths. Combat centers on fluid combos and juggling enemies, the trailer hints at sequences viewed through Mystique’s perspective, and several X-Men allies and antagonists appear throughout.
“It was our shared culture and values that brought us together, and we’re proud to continue collaborating for many years to come,” Mentes concludes. Marvel’s Wolverine is slated for release in 2026 — and, with luck, a new Spider-Man title will follow down the line.
Insomniac says the Marvel’s Wolverine box art “doesn’t look like our past games” — the studio collaborated with a comic artist known for a particularly brutal history with the character to produce the cover.
