Marvel Rivals to Penalize Match Leavers and Saboteurs
NetEase is increasing penalties for match quitting, inactivity, and intentional sabotage in Marvel Rivals, with repeat offenses leading to increasingly lengthy bans.
NetEase has decided to crack down harder on players who leave a match after losing the first battle or intentionally disrupt the team. The new system will factor in the number of violations, handling a single instance with a lighter penalty while repeat offenses result in longer bans. The developers also promise “even harsher” measures against those who regularly ruin the game for others. Specific timelines have not yet been disclosed, but punishments will no longer be limited to the standard 15-minute ban.

A separate penalty system will be introduced for Quick Matches. At the same time, NetEase accounts for instances where a player leaves a match due to hardware or connection issues. After contacting support and verifying the situation, the penalty can be lifted.
