ASUS has rolled out the largest update for the ROG Xbox Ally since its launch, making the device noticeably more compelling.
The ROG Ally X is Microsoft’s portable gaming system developed in collaboration with ASUS. The device runs the full PC games catalog, including titles available through Game Pass.
Key additions in this update include:
- new P‑Core and E‑Core profiles for the X model;
- quick access to fullscreen mode;
- FPS cap adjusted from 45 to 40 for better alignment with the 120 Hz display;
- improved power savings while in Modern Standby;
- enhanced in‑game performance via the AMD GPU driver V25.10.27;
- firmware stability improvements;
- general system refinements.
This is only a selection — the complete list of changes is available in the update documentation at the official changelog.
Bottom line: the unit runs significantly more reliably, frame rates have improved, and battery drain has been reduced. For a handheld of this class, these updates meaningfully extend playtime between charges.
