Level Infinite to Become Global Publisher of Project Spirit from the Creators of Stellar Blade

Shift Up and Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent, have announced an expansion of their partnership.

Studio Shift Up revealed that its next title, currently operating under the working name Project Spirit, will be released with publishing support from Level Infinite.

This marks the second major collaboration between Shift Up and Level Infinite following Goddess of Victory: Nikke, which the publisher oversees globally. The new agreement broadens their relationship into a “publishing plus co-development” arrangement. Yongxing Interactive — another Tencent-affiliated studio made up of veterans from animation, comics, and games — has been brought into the development team.

Earlier reports describe Project Spirit as a subculture-driven project styled in an eastern-fantasy aesthetic, with the goal of reimagining the genre. Investor filings noted that by September 2025 roughly twenty people were working on the game. The company said it will provide further updates when the team is ready to scale up.

The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and is intended as a cross-platform release for PC, consoles, and mobile devices. Specific platforms and a release window have not been announced; however, the relatively small team size suggests the project remains in early development.

Meanwhile, Shift Up recently confirmed it has begun development on Stellar Blade 2 for consoles and PC and has launched a large recruitment drive to expand the project team.
