Level-5 President Apologizes for AI Use in Game Presentation
Level-5 has confirmed that it used generative AI to prepare materials for its latest presentation and admitted that the company went too far this time.
Following the recent Level-5 presentation, fans noticed distinct artifacts pointing to the use of generative AI, including shifting background details, inconsistencies in character appearances, and animation elements.
Level-5 President and CEO Akihiro Hino confirmed that generative AI was indeed used when preparing the materials to make the showcase more impactful. At the same time, he acknowledged that the company went too far and apologized to anyone who found this use of the technology unpleasant.
Hino emphasized that Level-5 primarily uses AI to streamline human work, such as converting artist-created materials into 3D models. According to him, thoughtlessly generated elements should not appear in finished games.
The company head previously stated plans to use AI to cut the development time of large projects from roughly five years down to two.
