Lead actress of Ghost of Yotei says Blue Prince should be Game of the Year
Erika Ishii declined to show respect or solidarity toward the Sucker Punch and Sony teams
Voice actress Erika Ishii, whose work can be heard in numerous games including the recent Ghost of Yotei, told reporters on the Golden Joystick Awards red carpet that Blue Prince should be Game of the Year.
Blue Prince! Game of the Year, no doubt! Sorry to the others — it’s Blue Prince, all day, every day. I’ve been playing it for 300 days and I still keep discovering new secrets. Blue Prince!
When asked about the critics’ frontrunner — Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — Ishii replied with an affected awkwardness:
It’s great. Clair Obscur is an excellent game — genuinely excellent.
Ahead of the upcoming The Game Awards 2025, Ghost of Yotei was not nominated for Game of the Year; however, Erika Ishii remains a contender in the Best Performance category, where nominees also include Charlie Cox, Troy Baker, and other equally accomplished performers.
