Journalist Jez Corden reports that Bethesda is developing remasters for two titles — Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
The studio has previously confirmed multiple projects within the Fallout franchise. One of those is Fallout 5, but forecasts suggest it is still 5–10 years away, since The Elder Scrolls VI is expected to be released first. After that, fans can likely anticipate additional releases.
Rumors about remasters emerged following a major Microsoft leak tied to its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. That leak indicated Bethesda was working on remasters of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The official announcement of an Oblivion remaster lent weight to those reports and increased the odds of a Fallout 3 Remastered release.
However, it appears the studio’s plans may include more than that. Recently, an X user shared rumors about Fallout 3 and expressed disappointment that New Vegas might be skipped. Windows Central editor Jez Corden replied succinctly: “NV will come out too.”
No further details have surfaced, but considering Corden’s reputation and his history of accurate leaks regarding Microsoft’s plans, it’s reasonable to be cautiously optimistic about a Fallout: New Vegas remaster.
