Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake will feature three visual styles as Ubisoft compares the classic option with the original game
Players will be able to customize different aspects of the remake or choose from ready-made settings presets.
Some players criticized the graphics style during the debut showcase of Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake. The developers have taken that feedback into account and recently explained their “Playstyles” system in a development diary.
The developers use the term to describe a set of features that lets players customize the gameplay. Players can choose from three presets or create a fully customizable “playstyle.” The system will let them adjust visual elements such as color, lighting, object scale, and camera settings, as well as gameplay options such as combat and movement speed and animation toggles.
Classic Playstyle. The developers say the goal of this preset is to “recreate the Erathia you remember, so longtime players feel at home from the very start of the game.”
To bring the visuals closer to the original 1999 game, the developers adjusted the color grading to restore a “soft oil-painting aesthetic.” They also deliberately increased the size of creatures, heroes, and some map objects in Classic Playstyle to make them easier to see.

The developers also noted the higher camera angle and greater distance from the action:
Compared with what you saw in our previous announcement trailers and gameplay videos, the camera in the game’s Classic style is positioned farther away by default and can zoom out more, providing a much wider view.

The creators of Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake also showed off the “Immersive” style, which lets players view the game world from a lower angle, closer to the ground. Its main priorities are “modern graphics quality, a cohesive view of the world without abrupt transitions, and deep immersion in its atmosphere.”

Strategy style is aimed at experienced strategy fans who value efficiency and quick decision-making: “This style disables smooth camera transitions, while highlighting the adventure map grid and stamina points for maximum clarity.”
