Sony Unveils New PlayStation Plus Bonuses, but Unhappy Fans Want Discs Back
Some PlayStation owners are still calling on Sony to bring back physical game discs, months after the company announced this summer that it was moving away from them.
Players have continued to leave those requests in comments on Sony’s posts, including a recent post about PlayStation Plus perks.
Sony said PlayStation Plus subscribers would have access to various perks, including savings on gaming products and Bluetooth speakers from Sony Electronic, as well as discounts at PlayStation Direct. Other offers include a three-month YouTube Premium trial and perks for other services.
Judging by the comments, the perks have done little to please the overwhelming majority of players, who remain frustrated that Sony has not reconsidered its decision on discs.
User RUSHER_117 noted that calling “free trials” a perk was risky, playing on the word’s legal meaning. Some players are suing Sony and disputing ownership of digital goods.
Anyone can get a free trial… but what about discs? — hriddies1
It will take a lot more than a “free trial” for a service to make us trust you again. If you hadn’t been so greedy, this situation wouldn’t have happened. But now you’re using dynamic pricing, which means you’ll have to face the courts again… Sony will go down in history as the greediest company that ever existed… — KC_4191
This just looks pathetic. PlayStation is trying desperately to regain trust and trying everything, but doing nothing that would actually matter to players — ValhallaFeed
The only perk I need is discs — Gods_sonAFC

Zipiol suggested that Sony itself would receive a “no users” perk when its next console, PlayStation 6, launches.
