HBO Confirms Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for Early 2027

Production difficulties have not affected the creators’ timeline.

HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys confirmed in an interview with Deadline that the premiere of the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is still scheduled for the first half of 2027.

The new season will adapt George R.R. Martin’s novella The Sworn Sword. Dunk and Egg enter the service of Sir Eustace Osgrey and find themselves drawn into a conflict with neighboring lands amid a severe drought.

Showrunner Ira Parker previously shared that the production team faced serious challenges while filming the second season. The crew selected an arid region in the Canary Islands to recreate the Reach, where the events of The Sworn Sword take place. However, the area was struck by a once-in-a-century abnormal storm that flooded the set multiple times and forced temporary halts in production.

Despite these difficulties, HBO’s plans remain unchanged, although the company is not yet ready to announce an exact premiere date for the second season.
