HBO Begins Work on Script for Season 2 of the “Harry Potter” Series

The creators of HBO’s “Harry Potter” series are maintaining a brisk pace as they work to keep the project within a ten-year timeframe.

HBO is already preparing for a second season of “Harry Potter,” even though the first season is still in production and isn’t due until 2027. Casey Bloys, head of HBO and HBO Max, confirmed that writers have begun drafting new episodes to shorten the interval between seasons.

According to Bloys, the team is keen to avoid lengthy gaps in release — a priority given the young ages of the cast. He noted there will be a break between shoots, but the plan is to make it as brief as possible.

HBO previously stated that each season will adapt a single J.K. Rowling novel, which means the series could extend to seven seasons, with the full production expected to take roughly ten years.
