GTA 6 Fans Raise Funds for Gamer’s Life-Saving Surgery Ahead of Release
Doctors believe that the gamer will be able to survive an organ transplant surgery.
Rockstar Games has been developing Grand Theft Auto VI for many years. The release date has already been changed several times, and some risk not living to see November of this year.
Recently, the gaming community took notice of the story of TikTok creator Void Only. He spoke about his severe illness, and his quote “I just want to play GTA VI… God, Rockstar and these delays” went viral. The video gathered several million views in a couple of days.
Void Only shared that his condition has worsened and he requires a lung transplant:
Well, this day was inevitable. I am at my limit. My lungs are no longer coping. Therefore, I will be in intensive care until I undergo the transplant. However, my situation is very unusual. My lungs are attached to the chest wall, so during the surgery they will literally have to be torn from the chest wall—physically detached, then extracted and replaced with new ones. The surgery will be very bloody and dangerous. This is an extremely unique case.

His family organized a fundraiser, and members of the GTA VI community united, donating more than $50,000 to him for the surgery and rehabilitation.
According to Void Only, doctors believe that he will survive the surgery, and he hopes that will be the case, though he is still anxious:
Doctors believe that I will survive the operation, and I hope that will be the case. However, I am a very religious person, so even if I fail to pull through, the place where I end up will be wonderful.
The release of GTA VI is expected in November of this year, and a presentation on Netflix is scheduled to take place at the end of August.
