Games Workshop Announces Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team Box Featuring Legion of the Damned and Orks

Games Workshop has announced a new set for the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team, featuring the Legion of the Damned as they return to aid the servants of the Emperor and battle orks on Armageddon.

The developers of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team shared the news during The Big Summer Warhammer Preview Show 2026, revealing an upcoming boxed set dedicated to the ongoing warfare on Armageddon.

The set allows players to witness a clash between operatives of the Legion of the Damned and a mob of orks. Each legionary features skeletal details and is wreathed in ethereal flames, with their true nature remaining elusive even to the most persistent inquisitors.

The spectral nature of the Legion of the Damned makes their gameplay distinct from other Space Marines. Over the course of a match, they must strengthen their connection to the material world to reach their maximum potential.

At the start of the game, they move and fight more slowly than regular Space Marines. As turns progress and their form stabilizes, they transform into terrifying spectral monsters seemingly torn apart from the inside by otherworldly fire. They face off against a team of ferocious boss nobz.

These battle-hardened greenskin veterans have survived wars across dozens of planets and tower over their smaller kin. They wear heavy armor and carry a wide variety of ork weaponry. Some are obsessed with dakka and wield dual custom shootas, while others revel in fiery destruction and haul massive heavy weapons into the combat zone.

The battlefield for this confrontation is an entirely new terrain set featuring wrecked vehicles and half-ruined buildings, recreating the devastation that befell Armageddon.

The Killzone: Armageddon terrain is designed to match the styling of existing Battlezone Fronteris sets while offering a more battle-scarred appearance. Players receive two sturdy bunkers with dedicated rules for desperate close-quarters combat, alongside ruins and smaller terrain elements including a wrecked Redemptor Dreadnought and a Rogal Dorn Battle Tank.

Additionally, players will secure standard datacard sets and the Armageddon Dossier book, which contains all the necessary rules for both kill teams, background lore for the Legion of the Damned, the nobz, and the desperate times that brought these implacable foes together.
