Games Workshop Announces Night Goblins Team for Blood Bowl

A new Night Goblin team set is in development for the board game Blood Bowl, featuring cave squigs, squig herders, squig riders, squig handlers, and goblin linemen.

Fans of the board game Blood Bowl learned that Games Workshop plans to release a Night Goblin team during The Big Summer Warhammer Preview Show 2026 event.

Night Goblins are known for their maniacal laughter, mushroom obsession, and use of lunar iconography. These mad creatures also have vicious and bouncy friends.

This refers to four new positions: cave squigs, squig herders, squig riders, and squig handlers. The set includes two players for each of these positions alongside six Night Goblin linemen. Naturally, the goblin linemen will not dominate the field, but they are difficult to catch thanks to the Dodge and Stunty skills, plus they are hard to move away from due to Side Step and Tackle.

Cave squigs and squig riders possess the Pogo Stick skill, which makes them highly mobile, but squig handlers should be kept close by to prevent them from succumbing to Squig Frenzy. Squig herders are Strength 7 players equipped with the Ball & Chain skill.

Night Goblins are a fun and colorful team that brings plenty of new options to the Blood Bowl pitch. As with any Stunty team, they will require a skilled and lucky coach to get the most out of them.

Rules for this team will appear in the upcoming 23rd issue of Spike! magazine. It is also packed with background lore on the Night Goblin team, including the legendary Eight Peaks Psycopaths, rules for the malicious mushroom and squig bat balls that come bundled with the team, a coaching guide, and all the regular columns.
