Gal Gadot Criticizes How DC Handled Wonder Woman 3 Cancellation
The actress believes the studio could have treated the cast with more respect.
Gal Gadot stated that DC Studios never directly informed her about canceling Wonder Woman 3. Initially, the new studio leadership promised to work on the third film alongside the actress, but discussions subsequently stopped entirely.
The situation with Henry Cavill helped her understand what was happening. The actor announced his return to the role of Superman after Black Adam, but James Gunn soon announced a reboot with a different actor, who, as we already know, became David Corenswet. According to Gadot, the studio acted similarly toward Patty Jenkins, the director of the first two Wonder Woman films:
“The way Henry and Patty Jenkins were treated was, to put it mildly, not elegant. That is when I understood what was happening.”
At the same time, Gadot does not dispute the decision by the new DC leadership to reboot the cinematic universe, but she believes the studio could have communicated such decisions to actors and creators with more respect.

Meanwhile, the new Wonder Woman is in the early stages of development. Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira is writing the script, a director has not yet been chosen, and casting will begin after the script is completed, according to James Gunn. The name of the next actress to play Diana is currently unknown, but Gal Gadot does not plan to return to the role, as her four children have become her priority at this stage in her life.
