Free-to-Play Game Aniimo Exceeds 120,000 Concurrent Players

Comment Views: 2

Aniimo, a new competitor to Pokémon and Palworld, has launched as a free-to-play title on Steam, PS5, and Xbox, pulling in more than 120,000 simultaneous players.

The developers warn that servers are currently overloaded, so connection issues and long queues are possible. Aniimo requires a permanent internet connection.

Players have already left more than 4,000 reviews on Steam, and only 60% of them are positive. Many users complain about microtransactions that let players accelerate progress and acquire cosmetic items. Meanwhile, the developers promised not to use gacha mechanics for catching new creatures, and that promise appears to have been kept.

The peak concurrent player count for Aniimo on Steam reached 127,914. For comparison, Palworld peaked at over 2 million simultaneous users at launch.

On Xbox Series S, the game runs mostly stable at 60 FPS, although the frame rate occasionally drops to around 55 FPS. Gameplay footage from the PS5 Pro has also been published.
