
He references other games when describing the kind of vehicle and customization systems he has in mind. “I think there’s a game out there called Crossfire,” Jay says (editor’s note: he likely means Crossout), “It’s kind of a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max–style game — the shipbuilding and everything like what’s in Starfield. I’d love to see something along those lines.”
While Fallout 76 includes interactive vehicles, they aren’t usable as mounts or driveable transports. Jay summarises his vision succinctly: “I’d like to see a robust power armour construction system, a much deeper building suite — a truly robust settlement system. Cars, trucks, and other drivable machines would be fantastic. Those are the things I’d really love to see.”
Fans have wanted vehicles in Fallout for years, but given the series’ scarce resources and its strength in surprise encounters and random story beats, many players remain cautious about such an addition becoming reality.
Producers of the upcoming Fallout TV series say they’re holding off on including certain game creatures, characters, locations, and factions for now, but promise those elements will arrive in time.
