Follow the White Rabbit: Supermassive Games Showed a Creepy Gameplay Clip of Directive 8020

IGN has released a new gameplay clip for Directive 8020, the forthcoming title from Supermassive Games — the studio behind Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology.

Set aboard the starship Cassiopeia, the story follows a crew bound for Tau Ceti f — humanity’s last hope for survival. The lead character, Brianna Young, portrayed by Lashana Lynch, moves through the ship’s narrow, dimly lit compartments until she encounters something chilling.

Supermassive again leans into cinematic presentation and morally fraught choices. The team says even the smallest actions can redirect the narrative, and a new “breakpoint” system introduces many more branching possibilities and varied endings.

The game draws inspiration from classic sci-fi horror like Alien and The Thing, promising an oppressive sense of dread, isolation, and an ever-present fear of the unknown.

Directive 8020 is slated to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026.
