The project will explore the secret life of James Bond’s most important woman.

British newspaper the Daily Mail has named Marvel star Florence Pugh as a potential choice to play Miss Moneypenny in a prospective series titled Moneypenny Diaries.

This information echoes a February 2025 rumor from The Sun and may indicate that Amazon MGM has not abandoned the idea of a James Bond series spin-off over the past year and a half. According to the source, Moneypenny Diaries will be based on a trilogy by Samantha Weinberg published under the pseudonym Kate Westbrook.

The books recount Jane Moneypenny’s past and expand upon the events of Ian Fleming’s works. The first novel, Guardian Angel, is set in 1962 against the backdrop of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

At the same time, it remains unclear whether Florence Pugh is also being considered for the role of Moneypenny in the new James Bond film directed by Denis Villeneuve. Such a decision would connect the two projects, but Amazon MGM has not yet announced the film’s cast, and the identity of the new Bond is promised to be revealed before the end of 2026.
