Five Years After Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Announcement, New Ad Features Old Footage

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake has not been canceled just yet.

This month, Star Wars fans marked a somber milestone as five years have passed since the role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake was announced.

Another reason to remember the project recently arose when Lucasfilm Games published a trailer featuring various projects across different franchises. The video showcased previously released titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle alongside fresh or upcoming releases such as Star Wars Zero Company and Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Additionally, the compilation included long-delayed projects like Star Wars Eclipse and the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, using older footage for the demonstration.

Including the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake comes as a surprise because previous reports highlighted development troubles and rumors suggested the project might be scrapped altogether. The appearance of this game in the recent Lucasfilm Games promotional video indicates that the remake still exists in some form rather than having been quietly canceled.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake does not currently have a specific release date or launch window.
