The developers aren’t just adding fresh content — they’re also updating what already exists.

Recently, the creators of the driving simulator Euro Truck Simulator 2 teased a new undertaking and have now officially unveiled “Project UK Rework” — another region is getting a full overhaul.

SCS Software is handling a comprehensive rework of the United Kingdom. The team has released a selection of location screenshots:

More than twenty map designers are currently working on the early stages of the UK rework. Naturally, the effort involves many other specialists — from our research and assets teams to the road department and programmers. The project brings together a broad range of SCS Software teams, each contributing to what promises to be one of our most ambitious overhauls.

The United Kingdom in ETS2 will be rebuilt from the ground up and given far greater detail. The region’s left-hand traffic presents an additional challenge for the team.

No release date has been announced for the update that will add the revamped United Kingdom to Euro Truck Simulator 2.
