Fans Unhappy with New Patch Say Battlefield 6 Developers Are Trying to Pander to Call of Duty Players
The first season of the new Battlefield has also come under fire.
Battlefield 6 received a patch that lowers the number of tickets for Conquest across every map.
- Siege of Cairo: from 1000 down to 900 tickets
- Empire State: from 1000 down to 900
- Iberian Offensive: from 1000 down to 900
- New Sobek City: from 1000 down to 900
- Liberation Peak: from 1000 down to 800
- Manhattan Bridge: from 1000 down to 800
- Operation Firestorm: from 1000 down to 700
- Mirak Valley: from 1000 down to 700
According to the developers, the adjustment addresses the fact that most matches were ending by timer rather than because a team ran out of reinforcements.
The community, however, reacted negatively. Shooter fans on Reddit said they rarely experienced overly long matches and criticized the update. Some even accuse the developers of trying to attract Call of Duty players, pointing to changes in the game’s pacing.
Criticism also followed the first season’s reveal — which will introduce 4v4 and 8v8 modes — while long-time Battlefield players were hoping for more large-scale maps.
Battlefield 6’s first season launches on October 28.
