Fans Launch Fan-Made PvE Operation for Team Fortress 2 MvM Mode
Fans are supplying content on their own.
In September, Team Fortress 2 modders unveiled a new charity operation. Players are invited to jump into the Mann versus Machine PvE mode to battle waves of robots:
Reload your weapons, prepare your explosives, fill your canteens, and stock up on upgrades, because in this war Gray Mann is showing himself like never before—this could be the last war if you do not prepare properly…
The operation is titled “Operation Lithium Lunacy”. It prepares a set of 9 intermediate-difficulty missions, 9 advanced missions, 2 nightmare-difficulty missions, and 10 “incredibly difficult” missions for Team Fortress 2. To earn virtual medals, players must complete at least six missions. The modders have also included several special Master-tier missions for hardcore enthusiasts.

Valve itself is also preparing new content for the Mann versus Machine mode, but the Team Fortress 2 developers have not disclosed details about the planned update. A release date or release window has not been specified yet either.
