Experience this Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift tribute in Forza Horizon 6

While Forza Horizon 6 is undeniably steeped in references to the legendary Initial D manga and anime series, there is another cultural cornerstone that arguably played a larger role in shaping the Western perception of Japanese street racing: the 2006 cult classic, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Tokyo Drift occupies a singular, enigmatic space within its franchise. Absent the familiar faces of Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto or Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, the film stands as a standalone narrative centered on a high schooler—a world away from the gritty LA crime sagas or the high-stakes spy thrillers that define the rest of the series. Though it initially underperformed at the box office and faced harsh criticism, it has matured into a genuine cult phenomenon. In fact, it now boasts a respectable 3.4 rating on Letterboxd, ranking as the third most-favored installment among the site’s dedicated cinephiles. Much of its enduring charisma lies in how it captured the visceral, neon-soaked allure of Japan’s drift culture.

While official nods to the film in Forza Horizon 6 remain elusive, a talented member of the community known as Yama1354 (u/Necessary-Secretary2 on Reddit) has taken matters into their own hands. Utilizing the game’s intuitive garage customization suite, they have meticulously reconstructed Han’s iconic Underground Garage—the central nerve center for drift king Han Lue (Sung Kang) and his motley crew.

Though constrained by the technical limits of the Horizon 6 editor, Yama1354’s rendition is a faithful homage. It may be slightly more luminous and compact than the cinematic original—and admittedly devoid of the party atmosphere—but it nails the aesthetic perfectly. From the stacked tire racks and pneumatic lifts to the mezzanine level designed for loitering between intense drift sessions, the atmosphere is undeniable.

Populating your new space with cinematic replicas is equally straightforward. To recreate Sean Boswell’s signature red Evolution, simply acquire a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII—conveniently featured in the game’s Welcome Pack DLC—and apply the “Fast and Furious” livery crafted by END INC. You will find it at the top of both the “Trending” and “All Time Great” categories.

If you want to experience Yama1354’s creation for yourself, search for share code 110 339 717 within the community garages menu. While other layouts, such as the impressive “Streetside Japan” by Darth Hoki, offer different levels of polish, this particular build captures a nostalgic, high-octane energy that is simply unmatched for any Tokyo Drift enthusiast.
