Euro Truck Simulator 2 — Update 1.57 Now Available
We’re pleased to announce that Update 1.57 for Euro Truck Simulator 2 has been released as a free update. It introduces refreshed map content, DLC enhancements, visual upgrades, usability improvements and more. Below is a detailed rundown of the changes.
First, a big thank-you to everyone who participated in the Open Beta and reported issues on the forums — your feedback was invaluable in polishing this release for everyone.
Scandinavia Refresh

Update 1.57 delivers a comprehensive overhaul of the Scandinavia DLC, bringing the region up to par with more recent map expansions. The refresh focuses on improved visuals, updated road geometry and new points of interest that enhance both realism and navigation.
Highlights of the refresh:
-
Complete visual refresh: renewed textures, refined vegetation, updated road assets and additional rest areas and fuel stations.
-
Extensive road network updates: bespoke junctions replace legacy prefabs, notably across Danish motorways and Sweden’s principal E-corridors.
-
New urban content: the map now includes Aarhus (Denmark) and Karlstad (Sweden), plus a rebuilt Copenhagen with modern infrastructure and recognisable landmarks — and there’s more to discover as you explore.
These improvements are intended to provide a smooth visual and structural transition through Scandinavia ahead of the upcoming Nordic Horizons expansion.

HDR Support
The game now supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), enabling richer colors and improved contrast for players using HDR-capable displays. Alongside HDR, a redesigned brightness setup provides a preview screen with in-game imagery so you can fine-tune visual levels before jumping back into the action.
An HDR Calibration slider is included to help you adjust the effect precisely. When an HDR display is detected, HDR will be enabled automatically to provide the best possible image quality from the outset.

Cursor Navigation Improvements
Cursor responsiveness has been refined so movement feels consistent across different screen resolutions. Controller cursor speed and precision have also been tuned for smoother, more reliable navigation through menus and UI elements.
Dynamic Cargo Loading & Unloading
Dynamic loading and unloading has arrived in ETS2, bringing animated material handling to selected depots. First introduced in American Truck Simulator, this system is now rolling out to specific prefab and custom locations in ETS2, beginning with sites linked to the Nordic Horizons content and expanding across the base map and other DLCs.

At launch, logging trailers are the first cargo type to use the system: loads such as Logs, Large Tubes and Iron Pipes will be handled by loaders or excavators that will automatically load or unload once you park in the designated spot. Locations include sawmills, construction sites, steelworks and material depots, with plans to extend support to additional cargo types and sites in future updates.

Adjustable Trailer Suspension Height
