For some players, issues with EFT start long before the game is even launched.

The makers of Escape from Tarkov have outlined a series of fixes, including the community-known “228” bug. They’ve also pledged to resolve problems players experienced when trying to download the main EFT client and Arena via the Battlestate Games launcher and through Steam.

The “228” error occurs during interactions with traders and has affected players since before the EFT 1.0 release. It prevents progression on story quests.

The developers also intend to tackle the following issues:

  • Some players’ raid progress in PvE Zone isn’t being saved;
  • Occasional loss of in-game audio during raids;
  • Character screens overlapping when switching between them quickly;
  • Instances of corrupted textures that caused certain ammo and grenade fragments to render as purple.
