Embark Studios Bids Farewell to PS4 as The Finals Ends Support for the Old Console
One chapter of The Finals’ history is coming to an end. Embark Studios has announced it will withdraw support for a portion of its player base.
Although the studio is fully engaged on its new title, ARC Raiders, it hasn’t abandoned its previous release. The Finals continues to receive updates, but players are facing a significant change.
At present, the game is in its ninth season. The team is already shaping its future content strategy and has been forced to make a difficult decision.
The ninth season will be the final one in which new The Finals content is available on PS4. Beginning with the tenth season, which launches on March 18, 2026, support for the older console will end.
Leaving PS4 behind will not affect saved achievements or purchases. When the game transitions to PS5, players will not need to start over — all items and progression will transfer across.
