Dune: Awakening has received a significant milestone update with the arrival of Patch 1.2.30.0. This release introduces highly requested features, including base recovery systems, heavy-duty cargo containers for ornithopters, and a collection of complimentary items.
One of the community’s primary frustrations involved the risk of losing an entire base during an extended absence from Arrakis. To address this, the developers have introduced the Base Recovery Tool, providing players with much-needed peace of mind.
Craft a Base Recovery Tool and aim it at your headquarters to store the structure within the device’s memory. Note that this feature does not back up vehicles; it is recommended to dismantle any transport that cannot fit into your vehicle backup memory and store the components in your base storage or bank. Operating similarly to the vehicle backup system, this tool causes the base and everything within it to vanish from the world instantly. Re-deploying your base differs from using blueprints; the entire structure and its contents reappear immediately without the need for manual resource gathering or construction. Additionally, a new “snap-to-origin” feature allows you to place your base in a new world exactly where it stood in the old one.
The update also brings practical utility for aviators. New cargo containers for ornithopters have arrived, specifically designed to “facilitate the transport of massive shipments of materials and goods.” Once manufactured, these containers can be attached directly to transport-class ornithopters.
Furthermore, the patch introduces vendors selling legacy Twitch drop rewards and various quality-of-life improvements. Players can also claim the free “Gifts of the Sands” decorative set, featuring unique furniture, weapon skins, and a holographic tree. Development on Dune: Awakening is accelerating, with work on Chapter 3 already well underway.
