Dune: Awakening adds a full single-player mode
Update 1.5 has been released for Dune: Awakening as one of the largest patches since launch, introducing a full single-player mode, a new character management system, and the conclusion of the first book’s storyline.
In single-player, players can select from multiple difficulty levels or manually adjust dozens of settings, ranging from resource gathering rates and item durability to sandworm frequency, sandstorms, and death penalties. Deep Desert progress is now saved, while the Landsraad and other multiplayer-focused elements function in a simulated state.

Single-player characters remain separate from multiplayer characters, and transferring between official, private, and standalone servers involves specific limitations.
Funcom also implemented a massive overhaul of the combat system. The changes affect melee combat, parrying, stamina, character behavior, and enemy balancing. Additionally, the difficulty and reward systems in surface dungeons were reworked so that higher levels of risk better match the quality of the gear received.

The update brings technical improvements, optimizing world loading, rendering, memory, physics, and the user interface. Aim-assist settings have also been added for controllers.
At the same time, the developers redesigned the tutorial and the opening hours of the game by adding new hints, additional training stages, and a more consistent introduction to contracts, classes, building, and multiplayer features.

Two new face tattoos—Sandworm’s Eye and The Maker’s Markings—have been added to the game. On September 22, the paid cosmetic add-on Filmic Archive will be released on all three platforms, featuring items inspired by the films Dune and Dune: Part Two. The bundle will include several armor and clothing sets, weapons, building elements, and emotes.
Alongside the major changes, version 1.5 includes a large number of bug fixes affecting quests, the interface, vehicles, combat, graphics, sound, and overall game stability.
