DLSS 5 Works on Budget Graphics Cards, Not Just RTX 5090

DLSS 5 technology has proven functional even on budget-friendly RTX 50 series graphics cards, as initial tests in NBA 2K27 demonstrated 73 FPS on an RTX 5060.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 launched in NBA 2K27. Hardware Unboxed tested the technology across the entire RTX 50 lineup. DLSS 5 works with an already fully reconstructed frame, meaning lower resolutions have almost no impact on performance. This is especially beneficial at 1080p and 1440p, whereas the load remains high at 4K.

On an RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB at 1440p, the game delivers around 50 FPS without Frame Generation. Turning on FG x2 brings the figure well above 60 FPS. The RTX 5070 is capable of exceeding 60 FPS at 1440p even without frame generation. The RTX 5060 hits 73 FPS at 1080p.

For now, DLSS 5 operates without optimization. NVIDIA plans to significantly boost performance this fall and subsequently add official support for RTX 40 cards.
