DLSS 5 allegedly works on AMD hardware despite NVIDIA limitations

Enthusiasts have unofficially launched DLSS 5 on AMD Radeon graphics cards, hinting at the potential arrival of similar upscaling technologies on upcoming consoles like the PS6 and Xbox Helix.

DLSS 5-tier technology could eventually appear on the PS6 and Xbox Helix, as enthusiasts have already managed to unofficially run DLSS 5 on an AMD graphics card.

YouTuber Ancient Gameplays reported that the modification does allow DLSS 5 to run on AMD GPUs, though performance remains extremely low. On a Radeon RX 9070 XT, the setup yielded only about 12 frames per second, making it impossible to properly evaluate the visual results.

The DLSS-NR on AMD project is available on GitHub. The creators claim that in a new version, they achieved 28 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 on an RX 9070 XT at a resolution of 1080p.

Much now depends on AMD. In the next generation of RDNA 5 graphics cards, the company will likely attempt to compete with NVIDIA and offer its own technology of this type. The release of the new GPUs is expected no earlier than 2028.
