David Production Releases New Trailer for Firefly Wedding Anime

The new drama from the creators of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure premieres on October 9.

Studio david production has released a new trailer for the anime Firefly Wedding, featuring the opening theme song “Period” performed by singer iri.

The story takes place during the Meiji era. Satoko Kirigaya is the daughter of a noble family renowned for her beauty, but due to a severe illness, she does not have long to live. The young woman hopes to marry a worthy man in time to repay her family for their care.

However, her life changes abruptly after she is kidnapped. Facing imminent death, Satoko meets hitman Shinpei Goto and proposes marriage to him in exchange for her rescue. The man takes her words literally and begins treating her like his actual bride.

Production is handled by david production, the studio known for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Urusei Yatsura. Takahiro Kamei serves as director, Yuko Kakihara handles the script, and Yukiko Aikei is in charge of character design.

The original Firefly Wedding manga ran from 2023 to 2026 on the Manga ONE app and concluded with 11 volumes. The series has surpassed four million copies in circulation.
