Cult classic “IL-2 Sturmovik” celebrates its 24th anniversary — developers launch new website
The franchise continues to evolve and delight enthusiasts after many years.
In November, fans mark the anniversary of the flight simulator “IL-2 Sturmovik”. The developers joined in the celebrations.
1C Game Studios reached out to the community and shared details about the new website:
Dear friends, it’s hard to believe, but the IL-2 flight-simulator series has turned 24! The first game was released on November 23, 2001. To celebrate, today — November 24 — we launched a new series website and a new forum […] Later this week another section will go live on the new site — at 24 years the series is mature, so it’s time to start a family.
The IL-2 franchise remains popular: new content expansions continue to arrive for “IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles,” and a new entry in the series, “Korea,” is currently in development.
