Control Resonant Fails to Reach 60 FPS on RTX 5090 in Early Testing

In Control Resonant at 4K, maximum settings, and with ray tracing enabled, the RTX 5090 averages 48 FPS, while the RTX 4090 delivers 34.2 FPS.

Owners of high-end PCs will likely need to get used to the idea that an expensive graphics card no longer guarantees 4K at 60 FPS. According to tests by TechPowerUp, the GeForce RTX 5090 achieves an average of 48 FPS in Control Resonant at 4K resolution, Ultra settings, and with ray tracing enabled. The RTX 4090 manages 34.2 FPS, the RTX 5080 hits 29.4 FPS, and the Radeon RX 9070 XT records 27.1 FPS.

All results were gathered at native resolution without upscaling. Reaching a stable 60 FPS will likely require DLSS, FSR, or frame generation. At the same time, these numbers do not necessarily point to optimization issues, as maximum settings combined with ray tracing heavily tax even top-tier graphics cards. Control Resonant already proves to be a demanding test for hardware.
