Composer Mick Gordon Contributed to Music for First StarCraft Shooter Trailer
However, Gordon is apparently not involved in working on the game’s soundtrack.
Blizzard recently released the first cinematic trailer for an upcoming shooter set in the StarCraft universe. Players praised the atmosphere of the video, but the background music drew particular attention, with listeners hearing hints of Mick Gordon’s style. Gordon himself shared the trailer on social media, which only heightened fan speculation.
However, Blizzard subsequently clarified that the primary music work for the trailer was handled by the Finishing Move team, known for the DOOM: The Dark Ages soundtrack. At the same time, Gordon did participate in creating the composition. According to Blizzard music producer Charlotte Pyle, he prepared early thematic ideas for the project, which Finishing Move then used.
