Cloudflare Outages and Elon Musk’s Social Networks Left Honkai Star Rail Fans Unable to Play or Donate
Problems emerged when attempting to purchase new batches of Star Nefrite.
A widespread Cloudflare outage recently disrupted a number of high-profile services, and fans of Honkai: Star Rail were caught up in the disruption.
Some players were unable to complete in-game purchases in HSR or claim items they had already bought on their accounts. miHoYo (HoYoverse) has fixed the issue, and the developers confirmed the root cause was an error in Cloudflare’s service.
The outage also affected X, Elon Musk’s social network. Some users couldn’t sign into Honkai: Star Rail because they rely on their X accounts for authentication.
While the Honkai: Star Rail team typically awards Star Nefrite as compensation for bug fixes, incidents of this type are generally not eligible for such payouts.
