Charlie Cox Celebrates Clair Obscur’s The Game Awards Nomination but Honors the Motion-Capture Actor
The voice actor responded to his nomination for The Game Awards in the “Best Performance” category for his portrayal of Gustav in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Cox admitted he was “thrilled,” but said the lion’s share of the praise belongs to motion-capture performer Maxence Cazorla.
There’s an incredible French performer named Maxence Cazorla who handled almost all of the motion-capture work for this role. Any recognition I receive should truly be credited to him — I feel the performance belongs to him, and my voice is only one element of the whole portrayal.
Cazorla was responsible for the motion of Gustav, Renoir and Verso.
Since its release, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has emerged as a leading contender at The Game Awards and other ceremonies, earning multiple nominations in the “Best Performance” category — including three separate nods for the character Gustav.
