Celebrating the NES’s 40th Anniversary in the U.S.: 8BitDo Opens Pre-Orders for Limited-Edition Accessories

Fans of the Nintendo Entertainment System can already pre-order themed wireless accessories from 8BitDo. The lineup includes the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth — NES 40th Limited Edition gamepad, the Retro 68 Keyboard — NES 40th Limited Edition, and the Retro Cube 2 Speaker — N Edition portable speaker.

Forty years ago the Nintendo Entertainment System went on sale in North America (it reached Japan two years earlier).

To commemorate the anniversary, 8BitDo has revealed a special collection of three wireless devices — the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth — NES 40th Limited Edition controller, the Retro 68 Keyboard — NES 40th Limited Edition, and the Retro Cube 2 Speaker — N Edition.

The controller is equipped with TMR analog sticks featuring RGB lighting, extra R4 and L4 bumpers, two rear paddle buttons, a trigger-mode selector (Hall-effect triggers), tactile bumpers and a responsive D-pad, turbo functionality, and vibration. It is available for pre-order at $79.99 (6,504 RUB).

The Retro 68 keyboard features a 68-key layout, Kailh BOX Ice Cream Pro Max switches, an all-aluminum frame, RGB backlighting, wireless programmable keys, and a hot-swappable PCB. It can be pre-ordered for $499.99 (40,659 RUB).

The compact speaker, priced at $49.99 (4,065 RUB), incorporates control buttons styled after the D-pad of the original NES controller. Shipping is scheduled to begin on the following dates: the gamepad on November 18, 2025; the keyboard in January 2026; and the speaker on December 12, 2025.
