CDPR Confirms More Gwent Coming to The Witcher 3 with Songs of the Past Expansion

Fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can look forward to new Gwent content in the game’s upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past.

CD Projekt RED is currently co-developing the add-on with Fool’s Theory.

The studio plans to host a full showcase at Gamescom, but fans recently noticed a tease on social media. A journalist wrote, “Want to know what the coolest thing about The Witcher 3 getting an expansion is? THERE WILL BE EVEN MORE GWENT (I hope).”

CD Projekt RED Community Manager Marcin Lukaszewski directly confirmed the detail in a reply, stating, “Confirmed 100%.”

While Songs of the Past does not have a specific launch day, it is scheduled to release in 2027 for PC and modern consoles.

CD Projekt RED is also developing a new mainline entry, The Witcher 4, centered on Ciri, as well as a sequel under the working title Cyberpunk 2. The studio has not announced release dates for either title.
