Capcom Updates Devil May Cry HD Collection to Reduce File Size and Fix Bugs
The developers have decided to revisit the slasher collection.
In late September, PC gamers noticed that Capcom released an update for the slasher collection Devil May Cry HD Collection.
Capcom published patch notes in the collection’s Steam community hub, and they include only two items:
- Confirmed compatibility with Windows 11
- Various bug fixes (the developers provided no specific details).
At the same time, this update for Devil May Cry HD Collection includes an undocumented change, which is that the game’s storage footprint decreased significantly from 11.3 GB to approximately 4.5 GB.
Players such as TamePaper24 expressed a lot of surprise at this, writing: “Storage optimization??? Is this 2013?”. Discussion participants recalled that some modern games, such as Call of Duty, bloat heavily, while the creators of the 2018 collection care about file size optimization.

The collection includes Devil May Cry 1 and 2, alongside Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition:
Become Dante, the ultimate demon hunter, and alongside charming characters including Trish, Lady, and Lucia, enjoy incredible action gameplay in 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution at 60 frames per second!
