Gameplay for Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition Showcased With Graphic and Control Improvements

Creative Assembly and SEGA recently highlighted the upcoming Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition by releasing a trailer featuring gameplay footage.

The developers reiterated that this edition of Total War: Shogun 2 will feature graphic, lighting, shadow, and texture enhancements, along with UI scaling for 1440p and 4K resolutions.

In addition, the controls will be modernized. The creators provided several examples:

• Alt + Left Mouse Button (drag) — move units.
• Ctrl + Alt + Left Mouse Button (drag) — rotate units.
• Players will be able to create single-unit groups.
• Arrow keys can be held down to move selected units in the corresponding directions.

Other default hotkeys “will match newer games in the Total War series.” Keyboard controls will remain customizable, with the option to save and load key configurations.

Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition can be added to your Steam wishlist via the following link. The game is scheduled for release on October 13, 2026. The developers specified that this edition will include all expansions, including the Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai campaigns.
